PORNATHI PATTU
Poornathi Pattu (also known as Poornahuti Vasthra) is a sacred silk or cotton cloth used in Hindu rituals.
During a Homam (fire ritual), it serves as a wrapper to hold the final, most important offering.
It ensures that sacred items are safely given to the gods.
The word Poorna means "complete," and Pattu means "silk".
Dropping the tied bundle into the fire symbolizes the total, unconditional surrender of one's ego and desires to the divine.
It acts as a final delivery method to carry the prayers of the entire ritual to the gods.
In Hindu tradition, embroidered fabrics are thought to bring positive energy and prosperity to the environment. They are often used to decorate the altar or other parts of the puja space, and they are sometimes given as gifts to mark special occasions such as weddings and birthdays.
